On our first trip to the continent, we're especially looking forward to finally meeting and being able to spend a week each with two incredibly strong and accomplished African women, Florence in Kampala, Uganda and Irene in Nairobi, Kenya, with whom we've already formed precious friendships over the Internet and telephone.
We will be visiting schools, water projects (Ryan's Well Foundation), homes for orphans and vulnerable children (Sanyu Baby House), agricultural projects, crafts centers and game preserves. Ryan's Well is a Masai Women's project. My students of 5 years ago learned about Ryan and Jimmy. This year's students will be learning about them soon!!
We will also meet the woman responsible for the Soweto Strings, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
It will, without any doubt, be a trip of a lifetime!! Wow!!!!
