Today was wonderful - what a surprise!! In the morning we went to the Sanyu Babies Home, where they care for up to 50 babies, from hours old until the age of 4. While you might expect it to be a depressing place, instead it was like a college dorm full of babies, toddlers and preschoolers! There was music everywhere, healthy babies, lots of staff and volunteers, all in a very nice, open setting. We took stuffed animals, books and hair decorations for the kids. We may go back one more time. No photos, though.
We had an African lunch - chicken in peanut sauce, fried chicken, goat stew, plantains (which taste like potatoes, not bananas) and rice. Very good!!

In the afternoon, Florence's school had a music and dance performance for us. We were dumbfounded!!! We sat in front of these fabulous dancers for three great dances. One was depicting (?) circumcision, and another was a mating ritual. The drummers were incredible. They introduced us, and we each had to say something in return. Jill was eloquent, and anyone who knows me can imagine my stage fright as I tried to maintain control!! What an experience!!! (the dances, not my speech!).

Two batches of photos - how could I choose??
